What it Takes to be a Superpower

Competition is a great motivator. Persuading US leaders to realign with the same methodologies of the past is no simple task; however, a hyper-focus to invest in new technologies will allow this nation to retain the level of the indisputable world leader.

History reveals that the nation that leads in advanced technology will be the dominant superpower. Fixating the threat of China or any other country will not provide the focus or the answer.

History

Throughout the Cold War, government funding rescued the country from the grips of war by increasing computing power through the manifestation of the microchip: an amazing feat! By developing the microchip, guidance, and navigation systems rapidly advanced in their computing output as foreword thinking innovators decreased its size.

The miniaturization of the microchip reassured venture capitalists to invest. It seems this investment supported research that catapulted the invention of smaller and smaller chips that produced a new and powerful arsenal.
